Welcome to Seismic Scripts! We are a unique service helping writers through the script development process of creating an original screenplay or the adaptation of a novel to the screen. We offer intensive "producer's script coverage" and comprehensive project consulting with seasoned producer, Robert Schwartz to help writers, directors and producers greatly improve their entire creative package before submitting it in Hollywood, or to investors.  If you're not familiar with Robert's work, hit the "Consultation" tab below and learn more, or just read on...

Screenplays: Producer's Coverage vs. Countless Online Script Readers!  Here's what you need to consider.  There's an endless supply of self-appointed screenplay readers, doctors, or "gurus" as they are commonly termed, that you've never heard of before your Google search. They'll provide a screenwriter with their notes, online consultations, phone meetings, advice, etc. but ironically they’ve never made a commercial movie that you've seen in the movie theater or can rent at Blockbuster, Netflix, or iTunes, though they are somehow qualified to analyze your script!

Here's how the business works: If you're planning to send your story or screenplay to any production house, motion picture studio, talent agency, or to a name actor or producer, then 9 out of 10 times the script will be read by an underpaid, underappreciated college intern, office receptionist, or junior production assistant. This is just a fact of life as there are way too many screenplays coming into these places.  These assistants are the gatekeepers to their bosses.  Truly, there are several piles of scripts in their offices...ones that are fully financed with offers attached, scripts that have excellent coverage and may have attachments, too, and finally those scripts that have nothing yet. Which would you read first if you were an agent or manager? You need to grab their attention the very first time and the material needs to be stellar!

Here's what we do for many writers, directors, and production teams: Along with unsurpassed creative story analysis, Seismic Scripts will also assess your project’s viability in the marketplace on a financial and strategic basis from a producer's point of view. There is simply no other coverage available that can compare on this intense and comprehensive level from a working professional producer.   Our producer's coverage has provided comprehensive notes and focused consultation for numerous ICM, CAA, WMA, and WME clients, as well as having worked with client’s projects at Walt Disney Pictures, Warner Brothers, Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Twentieth Century Fox, MGM, The Weinstein Company, Samuel Goldwyn Company, Avenue Pictures, Knightscove Entertainment, Lionsgate Films, Alliance Atlantis, Sundance Film Festival, and many more. More importantly than just notes, we work with writers (and teams) on a one-to-one basis helping them sort out their ideas and get them to paper.

Here's what you will receive from us:
On an initial script read, Seismic Scripts will provide you with professional industry coverage that will help you improve your story and increase the probability that it will get past this initial script reader and to the person with real power.  Mr. Schwartz will personally read your screenplay, not some anonymous reader that you know nothing about or what their experience is in the motion picture business.  Seismic Scripts will provide you with that "litmus test" of your story and show you where your script succeeds, and where it could use some attention. Mr. Schwartz will be straightforward with you as he provides the information you cannot get from a typical script reader who has never purchased literary rights much less made a movie. As an experienced producer, he will also look at your story or screenplay from a strategic and financial perspective, helping you understand what steps you need to consider in many other areas like adaptation, copyright protection, casting, legal partnerships, distribution, marketing, and creative packaging.

After you spend all the hard work it takes to create your story, you need intelligent, comprehensive "producer's coverage" to take your project to the next level.

His approach is flexible for projects that are in the early creative stages, and those projects that require a detailed focus as they marry the actual production and budget realities.  He has worked with novelists, fiction and non-fiction, that are beginning the process of adapting their work to the big screen.

Mr. Schwartz is a founding member and serves on the Advisory Board of the Independent Feature Project (IFP) and a longstanding member of the Producers Guild of America (PGA) in Los Angeles. He is currently President/CEO of Seismic Pictures in Los Angeles, California.
